I’ve heard quite a few times recently people saying things like ‘Surely you can’t plan your life out on a single page’’ My answer is ‘of course you can!’
This weekend I’ve been very busy promoting a two day special offer where through the Amazon Kindle Store a single page plan book has been offered for free. This has got me thinking about something I’d read a while back about J.K. Rowling planning her book Order of the Phoenix.
Unlike my book I’m sure everybody knows about the Harry Potter series of books. Even if you haven’t read one of them, I guess you’d have seen at least one of the movies. The books themselves just like the movies were amazing, the characters so realistic in a magical sort of way, the plots simply amazing, and the images conjured into your mind through each breath-taking page.
How her mind could even have imagined these stories, let alone planned them out and then write them into a manuscript. Well we have all seen the evidence that not only did she manage to do so, she created through them a phenomenon of our times.
What may well amaze you was she planned the Order of the Phoenix on a piece of loose leaf paper where she outlines each of the chapters. The book itself may have taken 1232 pages but the initial plan, was on just a single page, a single, hand-written page.
Here it is:

Planning out your life on a single page is a good way to gain clarity on what you want and how to get it. If J.K. Rowling can plan a 1232 page book on a single page, you can do the same with your life plan. Any plan is better than no plan, and this Single Page Plan I assure you can transform your life.
Let me very briefly explain why.
Just like J.K. Rowling you’re going to get your story straight.
Firstly of how life has been up to this point that you have reached, and then the story of the life you want to live. Then you’re going to work out how to get from the first to the second. You’re going to work out every chapter you’re going to have to create to get you to the final manuscript. Then once completed you will use this single page plan to constantly remind you of the things you have to do, the reason you’re doing them, and where life will have taken you once everything you’ve planned has been achieved

One thing every human being needs is motivation. Motivation is the word derived from the word ’motive’ which means needs, desires, wants or drives within the individuals. Motivation is literally the desire to do things. It's the difference between waking up before dawn to pound the pavement and lazing around the house all day. Motivation is defined as the process that initiates, guides, and maintains goal-oriented behaviours. This single page plan once created will give you a single page that every morning will not just motivate you but focus your actions.
Doing it on a single page strips away all the detail, all the flannel, and keeps you concise and exact.
Give it a go, particularly if you want to create your own masterpiece … the perfect life.
Just remember, if the Life of Harry Potter can be created on a single page then so can yours.
"We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.” JK Rowling
